The Real Game Series™ (TRGS)
What is TRGS?
The Real Game Series™ (TRGS) (www.realgame.org) is a collection of six levels of experiential, engaging and highly effective programs to help students see the relevance of their programs of study to their future career plans. TRGS is a not-for-profit program. All proceeds generated from the sale of TRGS are cost recovery only and go to replenishing the inventory or revising of materials.
TRGS is moving career development from a model where people are expected to pick a perfect occupation for life to a new model where people learn skills to plan and manage their ever-changing careers throughout their lives. In short, The Real Game Series™ is helping students and adults become confident, self-reliant, and resilient in order for them to create great lives.
These programs are based on:
- The National Career Development Guidelines career development competency framework;
- The American School Counselors Association career development standards; and
- Incorporate the SCANS employability standards sought be employers across America.
TRGS is aligned with the California Department of Education state curriculum standards.
TRGS was developed over 7 years beginning in 1994 through an historic, not-for-profit partnership funded by the governments of the United States and Canada and involving hundreds of departments of education, school boards, professional associations and community agencies across both countries. These programs have since been adapted by the National Ministries of Education in several countries (see: www.realgame.com) and are being used by over 100,000 classrooms worldwide.
