So, exactly what is The Real Game Series?
It's a set of six internationally recognized career development programs for youth and adults.

Each is designed for a different age or grade level, and focuses on a specific aspect of community and individual career planning.

The Real Game Series is the product of thousands of educators, students, parents, and career development specialists. The learning objectives and performance measures have been deliberately aligned with academic learning standards, support the National Career Development Guidelines, fulfill the American School Counselor Association's National Standards for School Counseling Programs in career development, and meet the SCANS employability skills.

As a result, participants model responsible adult behaviors. Teachers & parents find school attendance, academic achievement, and interactions among students improve.

Millions of students and adults have played The Real Game Series programs since 1994. Many of them who would have otherwise been left behind are now connected with school and their lives like never before.

The games are based on five career management principles that ring true for people of all ages. They are called the High Five.

The High Five Principles are:
Know yourself, believe in yourself and Follow your heart.
Focus on the journey, not the destination. Become a good traveler.
You're not alone. Access your allies, and be a good ally.
Change is constant, and brings with it new opportunities.
Learning is lifelong, and it's good. We are most alive when we are learning.

The Real Game Series is moving career development from a model where people are expected to pick a perfect occupation for life to a new model where people learn skills to plan and manage their ever-changing careers throughout their lives. In short, The Real Game Series is helping students and adults become confident, self-reliant, and resilient in order for them to create great lives.

Because the curriculum is teacher friendly, The Real Game Series is quickly and easily adapted to use in schools.

Most Real Game Series activities are presented as simulations, encouraging participants to "try on' new roles and behaviors in a safe and supportive environment.

Participants in The Real Game Series tend to be more motivated to utilize other career resources such as career centers, libraries, career information delivery systems, self-assessment tools, the Internet, and more.

Each game is self-contained and includes all necessary materials.

Each of these programs includes a site license, which allows purchasers to photocopy reproducible materials for as many groups as they wish.

The Real Game Series does not generate a profit from charges for materials; all earnings go toward the continual update and improvement of the games.

The length of time for completing each game ranges from 10-26 hours of core sessions. Actual times can vary because the games are flexible and can be tailored according to the wishes and creativity of the teacher or facilitator. Optional classroom and community activities are suggested.

There are a variety of choices available for students to make about their future.

Their life decisions may be academic, post-secondary or technical school. Learning is lifelong. The Real Game Series provides an opportunity for students to make their own choices.

Regardless of the educational route students choose to take, there are fundamental skills they will need for successful adulthood.
The Real Game Series brings these skills into focus through a variety of innovative, experiential group activities.

The Real Game Series is available now to help you improve learning and strengthen career development in your community, your business or your school.
